Culture has the special power to remind us, that places we usually only pass through, have its potential, beauty, and history. Festival Priestor (Festival Space) did this magic to our city park - Park Milana Rastislava Štefánika – with its first edition in 2018. Many of us realised, that there were other great event places than the main square. Also, we were left wondering why there was not much happening in the park before.
Moreover, in 2018 the first Trenčín’s modern city marketplace, Trenčín na korze, came to life. It brought our focus not only on local designer brands but also on forgotten history of the street Ulica 1.mája. The vision behind was clear. If we bring something attractive and modern and place it on architectonically and historically interesting spot, people will notice the space. And it worked very well.
On Saturday 4.9.2021 festival Priestor and Trenčín na korze met each other in Park Milana Rastislava Štefánika. The line up was strong – from bands to DJs, from designer marketplace to fashion swap, activities like slack line, table games from iHRYsko and after sunset the video projection by TRAKT. The Trenčín’s Library organized activities for booklovers as well as creative workshops for children.
We supported the event and were there. We wanted you to notice the space, trully meet each other and get different perspective. Cultivating curiosity towards people and surrounding we tested out through interactive workshop Been there together. This card game providing questions and activities could be played by individuals, group of friends or colleagues during teambuilding, brings together participants of conferences or opens up discussion in a classrooms. Thank you for stepping out from your bubble and playing with us during the Festival!
