Trenčín 2026 Cultivating Curiosity is a result of the intensive work of hundreds of citizens, artists, creatives and experts. We are incredibly grateful to all the people who invested their time and energy into shaping the project together with preparatory team, often in their free time.
Preparatory ECoC Team
Project Manager Trenčín 2026
Lucka came to the team as a fresh wind three months before the project was handed over and she managed to draw the best out of it. As a project manager, she is in charge of leading the team, planning further directions as well as working with partners and building a project vision. In everyday life, Lucka works as the founder of the festival of digital art and culture Sensorium or in Inolab of the Slovak Design Center.
Coordinator of youth work
Veronika largely focused on the Outreach part of the project and considered how to involve all groups of residents in the process of preparation and implementation of the project. As an employee of the city, Veronika works with young people. In addition, she takes part in the GLOBSEC Bratislava forum every year.
Marketing and outreach manager
Barbora is in charge of communication with the public and the creation and management of social media and a website in the project. In the project, she focused on developing a Cultivating Curiosity marketing plan. In everyday life she works as a co-founder of the Pucle brand and organizes various cultural events in Trenčín.
Office and People Manager
Kika is one of the most important element of the whole project. She is in charge of communication with various focus groups within the city, she takes care of paying invoices or solving unsolvable assignments.
Lenka worked mainly on the chapter Cultural and Artistic Content in the Bid Book Cultivating Curiosity. She consulted the program, the content of numerous projects and the whole concept with many experts, including her professor from the VŠVU in the field of Intermedia Multimedia Ilona Németh. In everyday life, Lenka works as a creative entrepreneur and co-founder of the Slovak design brand Pucle.
Patrik is in charge of the financial budgets and planning of the Cultivating Curiosity project, but the large number of photographs that are used in the project creation process as well as in the Bid Book itself come from him. He works professionally as the vice-mayor of Trenčín.
Thanks to Martin, the whole visual identity of Cultivating Curiosity was created, which is carried not only in the printed Bid Book but also in the entire visual communication. Martin is professionally engaged in graphic design, especially font design, and is behind, for example, his own typography for dyslexics.
Capacity to Deliver Manager
Peter, as the architect of the city of Trenčín, worked to a large extent within the project as the chief planning strategist of the Capacity to Deliver part. He is an excellent saxophonist and plays in several important Slovak bands.
Program assistant and visual expert
Alexander devoted his study of Architecture at STU within the project to program assistance but also to the creation of interesting visual collages. Alexander is a co-founder of the Trenčín association Hlava 5, he co-organizes the city festival Priestor.
Thanks to Terina, we managed to establish a lot of cooperation with other ECoC cities and her task was to contact and invent various connections within the program as well as other parts of the project. Terina is a graduate of production at the VŠMU, currently she is engaged in marketing and copwriting, but she is especially the founder of the Trenčín Priestor festival.
Luisa Szabo Kočiš
Luisa is in charge of all printed materials as well as translation processing and communication with the necessary suppliers. At work, Luisa is a violist, she teaches the violin at an art school, but at the same time she is also a part of the small book publishing house Atomic Verlag.
Zuzka graduated from the University of Economics in Bratislava and works within the Trenčín 2026 team as the main production member. She works with people and never uses the words "I don't know" and "I can't" :) Her life is enriched by her son Anthony, and when she doesn't work, she loves to wander across the world. Now, she's working on a large production project of czech artist Kateřina Šedá called SATURDAY ON SUNDAY.
European Dimension Expert
Vuk has joined the team in the final stage of competition as a great fan of Trenčin 2026 project. His main task is to strengthen the EU dimension of the project and to help with the international partnerships. In everyday life, he is doing a PhD in Law and EU integration and working on the independent research about the ECoC projects from 2013 do 2020, but also writing a book about his ECoC learnings after almost a decade of experience working for several ECoC projects.
Veronika loves books, so that's why she's studying editorship and publishing experience at UKF in Nitra. She practices her skills in the nationwide student magazine HMOTA, in which she holds the position of chief editor. In our team, she is an intern in the program department, where she helps to facilitate the work of her colleagues - she communicates and organizes meetings, provides the necessary materials and handles all tasks that occur during the day. She is also always opened to help anyone who needs it.
Sophia is a student of international relations and she currently works as a production assistant as an intern. Her goal is to ensure the smooth running of various activities in the project. Sophia participates in various events, communicates with artists, directors, managers, supports colleagues by answering phones, takes detailed notes during meetings and does other necessary tasks. She works 100% and she is a systematic person. In addition to the school, she used her powerful organizational skills to lead the German Student Association (Deutscher Studentenverein) and to lead many university discussions. She's self-taughting the Korean language and she used to do the street dance as well.
